She waited for him in the snow,
She waited in the rain.
She waited through long winter nights;
She wanted him again.
Though she waited all her life,
She waited it in vain.
It didn't matter how long the days;
She wanted him again.
One day he came back to her,
Hobbled on a cane.
He saw her stone sarcophagus;
He saw where she was lain.
He left without another word,
Not knowing of her pain.
Never knowing she had died
Wanting him again.
